This last week has been INsane!
Two days before her biopsies the little Peanut developed quite the fever and the Doc felt it was strep. Learned the hard way that she's allergic to Penicillin and its derivatives. Switched her meds and she was able to have the biopsies done.....however, the drama wasn't over yet!
She reacted to the surgery in the exact opposite direction most children go in. She had terrible, terrible pain. She was so groggy for hours and screamed for the rest of the first day. It broke my heart to see her in so much pain! Even today, three days afterward she's still not herself. I realize her recovery was made all the harder dealing with strep as well.
Our little peanut is waiting for answers. Why does it hurt so much to eat certain foods? Why is she plagued with reflux despite a solid year of treatment and no ceasing of the symptoms?
While I do not like "labels", especially of the medical kind, sometimes they are necessary to get answers. I anxiously await the results of these biopsies of her stomach, esophagus, and small intestine. We are looking at both Celiac and Eosinophilic Esophigitis.
Stay tuned for answers! We hope!
