~*Day 9 of Bless Your Child*~

Day 9
Trust them to make their own choices.

Ouchie...this is a toughie for a controlling personality like me.  I tend to micromanage...hey now, back off a little!  I'm aware of it and working on it!

Seriously, though, I know that two of my children will tend toward wiser choices because of the way they process situations in their brains.  One of my children is far too impulsive to always make the wisest choices.  This child will learn, it will take much repetition and getting the same results before it will finally click that maybe this child should do things differently.

That is where I struggle...when to back off and let them make their own choices (and the resulting consequences) and when not to.  There is no certain age when wisdom simply appears in their hearts and will be determined by life experience, maturity and how open they are to direction.

I pray that each of my children will remain soft to direction (and the occasional discipline) and hold those lessons deeply in their hearts.

Riding your bike with a long skirt might not be a great idea...
Losing your sweet new glasses 6 days after getting them (in Grandma's pond no less)= Not wise!
Proverbs 2:10
For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
