~*Test Results and Surprises*~

We survived another marathon medical day. We were up and at 'em  at 5 a.m. and didn't get home until 8pm.

We learned that Dalton is completely unable to feel sensation in his bladder....honestly, we are grateful for that with all the cathing he will be required to do for the rest of his life.

He has Urinary Reflux....where urine refluxes back into the kidney.  He is on antibiotics, now for that. The pressure in his bladder is high which, long term, could affect his kidney's. He is on another med to assist his bladder with emptying and drying out. We are hoping that cathing and meds will help, the alternatives require surgery and they would need serious consideration.

We learned how to catheterize him today....I did it once and the nurse said, "Do you have any questions because that seemed way too easy!" And it was just that simple. He's one little boy that will be blessed by cathing because its lickety-split quick and easy peasy!

Analina had the same tests done as a baseline before her spinal surgery. We will repeat all the tests after surgery to be sure she did not lose any function.

She came out with a clean bill of health. Her bladder and kidney's are great...however, she, again, revealed another surprise to us. Her right hip is dislocated. We are unsure of the treatment plan at this moment as it was just discovered today. We realize another surgery may be in her future.

I cried tears today of joy and sadness...knowing in China children with disabilities are cast aside. They are thrown out.

Here, she gets to be a Princess, loved and cared for. Wanted.
Needed.
