7 Week Brotherly Love Challenge

I never knew how many boys I would raise and I never put much thought into it. I just welcomed them in one.by.one....or two.by.two in our case. While I have four, currently only three, living with us, I'd gladly welcome more if our family were ready for that sort of expansion.
Have you noticed it can be hard for our male children to communicate. It can, also, be hard for some of them to show affection, at least to each other in a manner we, as moms, would agree with!
Our boys have their own games, their own inside jokes, weird habits and likely their own "language" that only they would understand. They can make each other laugh like no one else, make each other cry like no one else, and drive each other crazy, like no one else can!

The time they spend together playing cars, superheros, bad guys, and racing for the millionth time to the dinner table they are learning and teaching each other. All those lessons we, as mothers, desire to be ingrained deeply in their heart and soul are being taught amongst each other.

However, sometimes, they forget that they are on the same team and that they are for each other and not against each other.

Today I begin the 7 Week Brotherly Love Challenge
Today, remind them that they are playmates and pals. That their friendship will last a lifetime if they continue to feed it.
Three Legged Race
Do each others laundry
Draw a picture of each other and label with favorite attributes of the other
Write each other encouraging notes and secretly leave them for the other brother to find

Our friends will change often, throughout our lives, but family will always be family.

What can you do to encourage your sons to create a lifelong friendship?

Hebrews 13:1
Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.
